As part of your prospecting, are you looking for companies with international activity? Where will you go to find that information?
Not every company declares its export turnover, and among them are some very large companies! Does that mean they do no business abroad? We believe we can draw on other indicators to get a more global and reliable view of your prospects’ international activity.
Smart data lets us go further and cross-reference many indicators about companies. Mixdata has built an International Activity index that cross-references a good number of criteria and parameters to optimise the identification of this segment of companies that work with other countries. Let us guide you!

Semantics, the textual analysis of your prospect’s website
When you take apart the content of a company’s website, you learn a great deal about its activities, of course, but also about its organisation, its partnerships and its positioning. You can also see whether the company mentions its subsidiaries abroad, its establishments in Europe or in China, its ability to deliver anywhere in the world… A company tends to be fairly talkative on its website, and we are delighted about that. It may also announce the opening of a shop in this or that European or Asian city, or the construction of a warehouse in the Maghreb, for example.
Perhaps these companies will also have provided different language versions of their website, which does not guarantee certain activity abroad, but at least shows an appetite to develop markets or a stream of business outside France.
Mixdata will look for all this information for you in this “International Activity” index and will cross-reference it again with other data.
The presence of certain functions in the company’s org chart
A company geared towards external markets must organise itself accordingly, and therefore show, among its staff, Import or Export departments.
We can also look for functions with precise titles that are good indicators, such as “Country manager”, “international development”, or managers for “EMEA”, “Africa zone” managers, etc.
Don’t forget the legal data
Of course we cannot overlook the legal data which, when declared and published, can give us very valuable information. Export turnover remains a good indicator, but so do the legal forms in the Foreign Companies category, which obviously point to a rather natural international activity 😉
Mixdata therefore offers the benefit of all this knowledge, as well as a few other balance-sheet indicators, to uncover international activity and let you identify these companies in a single click. That’s smart data too!
