Exact-phrase search ( » « ): you can put several terms in quotation marks so that Mixdata searches for those exact words, in that order, without any changes. Example: « made in France label », « renewable energy production », «Sage X3», etc…
Multi-keyword search: you can place several keywords one after another, without quotation marks. The engine will then look for all the sites that mention one or other of these keywords… or both, in any order. Example: anaerobic digestion biogas
Think about abbreviations and/or initials: searching for « jeune entreprise innovante » (the French “young innovative company” status) returns results that contain the exact phrase on sites, but companies describing themselves with the term JEI won’t be shown to you. So it’s worth:
– Running a first search with the query « Jeune entreprise innovante » then saving your selection to a list you call “JEI”, for example.
– Then running a second search with the query JEI. You can add this new selection to the “JEI” list you created earlier. That way your two searches complement each other, with automatic de-duplication of any companies that appear twice.
Detect foreign languages: you can use either Chinese or Cyrillic characters (or any other special characters), or common keywords in Italian, Spanish (or any other language) to find companies whose websites are written in various languages. These foreign-language pages clearly point to their concerns in different countries (exports, local offices…).
